The Catedral Basílica Menor Nossa Senhora da Glória, also known as the Cathedral of Maringá, stands in the heart of Maringá, Paraná, Brazil. It serves as both a sacred place of worship and a remarkable landmark that defines the city’s skyline. At 124 meters (407 feet), it is the tallest church in the Americas and the eighteenth tallest in the world.

Architect José Augusto Bellucci designed the cathedral to unite faith and innovation. Moreover, he drew inspiration from the Soviet Sputnik satellites, which influenced its distinctive conical shape. Finally, the cathedral opened on May 10, 1972, marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of Maringá’s founding.
