The Basilica of the Visitation of Mary is located in the Marktleugast community of Marienweiher. It serves as the pilgrimage basilica for the Roman Catholic parish of Marienweiher in the Deanery of Hof, within the Archdiocese of Bamberg. Marienweiher is the largest Marian pilgrimage site in the archdiocese. Along with Bamberg Cathedral, the Basilica of Vierzehnheiligen, and the Basilica of Gößweinstein, it is one of the four basilicae minores in the archdiocese. The church received the papal honorary title of basilica minor in 1993.
