The Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Garde is a Catholic basilica dedicated to Our Lady. It is located in Longpont-sur-Orge, a commune in the Essonne department of France. The church stands on a historically significant site. According to legend, Gallic druids once venerated a statue of the Virgin Mary here, long before the Christianization of the region.

The church was founded in 1031 by Guy I of Montlhéry and his wife Hodierne de Gometz. In the following thirty years, they built a priory. They sought the bishop's approval to place the church and priory under the protection of the Abbey of Cluny. This connection to Cluny gave the church importance during the medieval period. However, the French Revolution led to the destruction of the priory and much of the church. Most parts built before the end of the 11th century were lost.

Despite these losses, the basilica retains key elements from later periods. One notable feature is the Gothic portal built in the 1220s. This portal is famous for its artistic quality and detailed iconography. The tympanum above the entrance shows the coronation of the Virgin, a powerful symbol of Marian devotion. This artwork reflects the basilica's continued religious significance.

Today, the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Garde stands as a symbol of the region's Christian heritage. It has survived centuries of change and remains an important religious site.
