The Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bardo is a beautiful Baroque church in southwestern Poland. It stands beside the scenic Nysa Kłodzka River, surrounded by forested hills and a peaceful atmosphere.

Construction began in 1686 during the leadership of Abbot Augustyn Nedeck, who appointed architect Michał Klein to design the church. The building process ended in 1704, resulting in a structure that blended faith, symmetry, and ornamentation.

At first, the church served the Cistercian community. However, it soon became a place of devotion for the public. Many pilgrims arrived, drawn by a statue of the Virgin Mary that is believed to be miraculous.

In 2004, church leaders recognized the basilica’s long-standing spiritual role. It became the Metropolitan Sanctuary of Our Lady Guardian of the Holy Faith. Just four years later, in 2008, Pope Benedict XVI gave it the title of minor basilica.
