The Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes (Portuguese: Basílica de Nossa Senhora de Lourdes) stands in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It represents a major neo-Gothic landmark in the city. Moreover, it reflects the strong Catholic heritage of the community. Architect Manoel Tunes designed the church with skill and dedication. Meanwhile, Antonio Gonçalves Gravatá completed the construction around 1923 after years of steady work. As a result, the building quickly became a central place of worship. Later, in 1958, Pope Pius XII granted the title of Basilica. This way, the church gained new spiritual importance and recognition.

A wooden statue appears in processions and coronations, linking devotion with community life. In the Grotto of Lourdes, a plaster image over one hundred years old inspires pilgrims to offer prayers and seek comfort. Finally, on the altar, a third image, brought from Rio de Janeiro, holds a prominent role during celebrations. It arrived during the church’s elevation to basilica status and remains a powerful sign of faith.
