The Basilica of the Assumption is located in the village of Andocs, Somogy County. It is one of the most famous Catholic pilgrimage sites in Hungary. Each year, ten pilgrimages take place there. The main event occurs on Assumption Day, August 15. Thousands of pilgrims travel from across the country and beyond to attend. Another important pilgrimage happens on September 8, known as Little Lady Day. This day holds special religious and cultural significance for many.

In 2010, the Basilica received the "Our Heritage – Treasure of Somogy" award. This recognition honors its historical and cultural importance. The sanctuary dates back to the 15th century and features Gothic architecture. However, most of the church and the adjoining monastery were built in the early 18th century. This combination creates a unique architectural blend that attracts visitors.

The Basilica sits at the center of Andocs village. It lies at the intersection of two important roads: road 6505 connects Kaposvár and Szántód, while road 6514 links Andocs to Látrány and Balatonlelle. Thanks to this location, the site is easily accessible from major nearby cities.
