The Basílica Menor de San Pedro Bautista, also called San Francisco del Monte Church, is in Quezon City. It is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, built in 1590. The church honors Pedro Bautista, a Spanish missionary from Ávila, Spain. He was martyred in Japan in 1597 and later canonized as a saint.
The church belongs to the Diocese of Cubao under the Vicariate of Saint Pedro Bautista. Franciscans (OFM) manage its religious and community activities. They also maintain its historical heritage.
The parish covers six barangays: Damayan, Del Monte, Mariblo, Paraiso, Santa Cruz, and Talayan. Its boundaries run from Pat Senador Street to Quezon Avenue and from Araneta Avenue to Judge Juan Luna Street.
Pilgrims visit the basilica to pray, attend Mass, and reflect on the life of Saint Pedro Bautista. The church also hosts religious events, community activities, and cultural celebrations.
Because of its long history and central location, the Minor Basilica remains a symbol of faith, devotion, and history in Quezon City.
