Saint-Samson Cathedral in Dol-de-Bretagne is a Roman Catholic co-cathedral built in the Gothic style. Dol did not recover its bishopric title, and the Concordat of 1801 divided its territory among Rennes, Saint-Brieuc, Quimper, and Évreux. Later, under Napoleon III, Brittany regained an archbishopric, with Rennes as the seat. Thus, the cathedral’s history reflects both religious devotion and political change over the centuries.
