The sanctuary is part of the parish of Saints James and Philip in the Levante and Valle Argentina vicariate, under the Diocese of Ventimiglia-San Remo.
In December 1942, Pope Pius XII elevated the church to the status of a minor basilica. Later, on June 13, 2010, Bishop Alberto Maria Careggio declared it a diocesan sanctuary. This recognition highlights the sanctuary’s significance within the local Catholic community.
