The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Snows, also called João Pessoa Cathedral, stands in the old town of João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba. It serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Paraíba. They built step by step. Each phase strengthened both the building and their sense of identity.
Finally, in 1894, church leaders declared the church the cathedral of the Archdiocese. This decision gave it a central role in religious life. Today, the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Snows continues to unite faith, history, and community.
